User policy

◇Rental period

【General customers】

AM10:00~PM5:00
Return by the next day plus 1000 yen (till PM5:00 of the next day)

【For customers staying in naokonoza】

Customers can rent the Kimono from AM 10:00 till they arrive at the Machiya at night. The Kimono should be folded gently or hung up in the Machiya.

◇After hours rate (for rental users)

Our business hours are AM10:00 ~ PM5:00.
For the after-hours rental, an overtime charge of 2000 yen should be paid by each group.

◇Return

【Visit the store 】

Return on the day of the rental should be made by PM 5:00. Customers should visit the store by themselves.
If return by the next day is preferred, customers should visit the store before PM 5:00 of the next day (in this case, an extra charge of 1000 yen is needed).

※For customers who do not live in Japan, return on the day will be the only choice.

In the case of return on the day

Clothes and hand baggage except valuables can be kept in our store till PM5:00 for free. The baggage delivery serves to the Machiya on the day
(it charges 750 yen per baggage for Kyoto city only. The delivery serves maybe impossible during the busy season. Reservation is required)

In the case of return by the next day

Please fold the Kimono gently when returning.

Customers who are staying at the hotels nearby Beppin Kyoto

Customers who are staying at the hotels nearby Beppin Kyoto (inquiry required) can return the Kimono to the front desk when checking out by an extra fee of 1000 yen.

【For customers staying at the Machiya of naokonoza】

Customers staying at the naokonoza can rent the Kimono till they back to the Machiya and they also can take pictures there in Kimono. After using the Kimono, please fold it gently or hang it up in the Machiya.

  • ・Clothes and hand baggage except valuables can be kept in our store till PM5:00 for free.
  • ・The baggage delivery serves to the Machiya takes 600 yen per person. (Reservation is required)

◇A late fee

If the extension is not mentioned when making the reservation we will take 30% of the rental charge per day as a late fee.
If the extension dates is over 7 days then the rental product will be considered as a product which is sold out. The balance amount a sales price and a rental charge will be demanded. If the extension of rental period is expected please let us know when making the reservation.

◇Cleaning

Cleaning will be done by the store. Cleaning charge is not necessary. Please rub the food stains off lightly and pay attention not to drop any chemicals on the clothing fabric. However, in the following cases the maintenance charge will be required at a later date when it is not considered to be used within the usual range. According to the degree of the dirty and the condition of the product, the demanded amount will be an actual cost.

  • ・A special dirty that does not fall with the usual cleaning way (grease, wine, breast milk, blood etc.)
  • ・A dirty or break which makes the Kimono cannot be used anymore (burn mark of the tobacco, water stained etc.)
  • ・Odor removal maintenance from perfume odor spreads (around 5000 yen)
  • ・Repairing of the string tights inside the arm because of the accessories such like the watch or the bless etc.

※If the rental product is missing, a charge will be demanded separately with the rental fee.

◇Return and change the rental product

Return and change cannot be acceptted if the reason is because of a wrong image.

※Because of the monitor or environment it is possible that the actual color and texture maybe a little bit different with the posting picture.

Please do understand in that regard when making your reservation. Also for some contingent accident, if the product has been reserved is unavailable for rental we please you can change to others that are on stock. In that case, we will contact in advance.

※ For the character of rental products, they are not new. Especially for the antique, there will be some smear sometimes. Quality control has been done before they can be rented. Hope you can excuse such petty aspects when using.

According to the products, sometimes we cannot find you an alternative. If the payment has finished, we will refund the rental charge. Sorry we cannot take any amount of debt more. Please do understand in that regard when making your reservation.

◇For lost property

Customers’ lost property will be kept for 2 weeks. After this period we will get rid of them.

※Raw things will be get rid of right away, and the underclothing will be disposed the next day.

◇Cancellation ・ modification

Customers must to contact by phone call or email. For the cancellation after the reservation comes into effect, cancel charge is required as following.

  1. 1.For the cancellation on the day of visiting the store, it takes 100% of payment for the rental product.
  2. 2.For the cancellation after 7 days before the day to visit the store, it takes 50% of payment for the rental product.
  3. 3. For the cancellation after 14 days of the reservation coming into effect and before 8 days of the day to visit the store, it takes 20% of the payment.
